2012 Fire District Budget
We have one
of the lowest fire
district tax rates in Burlington County

The Eastampton Fire-Rescue Department has worked hard
with the Eastampton Board of Fire Commissioners to develop a budget that holds the line on
taxes while providing the training and equipment that our volunteers need in today's
world.
The 2012 budget maintains a stable tax rate.
The Fire
District does not have any capital debt load! More than one-quarter (28.3%) of the Eastampton Fire District
operating budget
is paid to the water utility. Most of that amount is
for the maintenance of our township's water lines that supply your drinking water,
not fire hydrants.
Thank You for Your Support!
The Eastampton Fire-Rescue
Department continues, in our opinion, to be the best municipal
services bargain in the County! In 1996, a home
assessed at $166,000 paid approximately $4,750 in property taxes, of
which about $160 was for the fire tax. In 2007, the same home now
assessed at $330,000 will have seen its total property tax bill
climb over $2,700 to almost $7,500 while
the fire tax increased only twenty-eight dollars!!! The district's fire tax
and amount to be raised by taxation continue to be among the lowest in the
county. The per capita cost for Eastampton residents is less than half the
state average for fire districts.
During this time, the fire district
has created a consolidated municipal fire department, raised the department's
insurance ratings three grades from Class 7 to Class 4, replaced an apparatus
fleet that did not meet NFPA standards with one that now does, established an
apparatus replacement plan to provide for future needs, improved overall
response times to calls in Eastampton, consolidated
the Emergency Squad and Fire Prevention Bureau into the fire department, and
entered a shared services agreement with Westampton Township to improve the
level of emergency medical services in Eastampton. It has done all this
without carrying any debt!
